Timberwise’s parquets are granted Finnish Allergy Label
Timberwise joins the Design from Finland -stand at Habitare
Timberwise has been granted the right to use Finnish Allergy and Asthma Federation’s Allergy Label as the first flooring manufacturer ever. Traditional Timberwise pine parquets have also been selected to Toimittajien Tusina 2014, which is an annual listing of top 12 most interesting and inspiring design products chosen by the Finnish Interior Journalists Association. Timberwise parquets are manufactured in Loimaa, Finland and at Habitare Design Fair they are displayed in a shared stand 7h68 where Key Flag- and Design from Finland -companies come together to highlight Finnish design skills. Floor of the whole stand is Timberwise’s exquisite Oak XXL parquet.
Timberwise Oy is a Finnish family-owned company located in Loimaa, which has been manufacturing single-strip parquets, also known as plank parquets, since the year 2000. Timberwise focuses on premium quality, safety and Finnish materials – at least two thirds of all the raw materials are always Finnish. Timberwise has just received the Allergy Label from the Finnish Allergy and Asthma Federation as the first flooring manufacturer. Timberwise uses only glue and surface treatments which contain no added formaldehyde so the parquets do not release any harmful chemicals in the air. When formaldehyde evaporates it can cause irritation in eyes and respiratory system even when the amounts are small. The causal relation between formaldehyde and asthmatic symptoms has been studied. Timberwise’s emission free parquets increase comfort of living by improving the quality of air. That is why Timberwise parquets are a safe choice also for families with children and people with allergies.
– Timberwise is a forerunner and the company shows excellent know-how in both emission free materials and high-quality raw materials. Timberwise parquets are the first flooring materials, which have qualified for the Finnish Allergy Label. They do not contain any formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds are so low that Timberwise parquets are suitable for use almost everywhere, tells Head of Communications Niki Alanko from the Allergy and Asthma Federation.
Domestic origin is a matter of heart for Timberwise
Timberwise wants to cherish Finnish wood-refining skills and therefore it has focused in keeping the manufacturing in Finland by investing in product development and manufacturing techniques and by increasing automation. Timberwise parquets have also received the Key Flag Symbol which tells about the products’ Finnish origin. At Habitare Design Fair held in Expo and Convention Centre Helsinki on 10.–14.9.2014 Timberwise joins the Key Flag- and Design from Finland -companies’ shared stand 7h68 with nine other blue and white design experts.
Timberwise’s versatile parquet range is displayed at Habitare
Timberwise manufactures plank parquets from four different types of wood: oak, ash, larch and pine. Timberwise was the first parquet manufacturer to give up using exotic species of tree on ethical grounds and to focus on manufacturing and colouring oak and ash parquets. Nowadays the company is the forerunner in colour treatments of wooden floors with one of the largest colour selections in the market. At Habitare Timberwise exhibits e.g. the grand Herringbone floors, naturally knotty larch floors and traditional Finnish pine floors, which were selected to prestigious Toimittajien Tusina 2014, the top 12 favourite design products listed by Finnish interior design journalists of Sisustustoimittajat ry.
High-quality Timberwise parquets are designed for demanding conditions
All Timberwise parquets have a solid three layer structure where the middle layer is made of Finnish birch plywood, which improves durability, instead of commonly used pine plywood. Due to their stable structure Timberwise parquets are applicable also in the most demanding conditions where temperatures and humidity vary considerably. All wood used by Timberwise is from PEFC-certified forests located in the EU region.
