Larix decidua and Larix siberica

Larch is a valued coniferous tree. The color of its heartwood is reddish brown and the sapwood is light. Larch can endure higher wear than pine. Great color variation and high number of knots are characteristics for larch! Larch is more sensitive to the changes of temperature and moisture than the hardwood species. Larch is not recommended to be installed with underfloor heating if you are not able to guarantee a permanent condition of relative humidity between 40 – 60Rh. In drier conditions cracks may appear.

Timberwise uses Austrian larch and Siberian larch in its products.

The density of larch is 590 kg/m3 as air dry and Brinell hardness 2.2–3.0 HB.
